Hey, it’s me — Danielle.

I’m running for City Council because I believe our city deserves leadership that truly sees the people, understands the struggles we face, and is ready to create real, lasting solutions.

I stand for working families, small businesses, and the everyday residents who feel overlooked or unheard. My goal is to advocate for resources, opportunities, and systems that actually support our community , from youth and single parents to entrepreneurs and local workers.

At the same time, I believe in building strong relationships with corporate partners and outside investors so our city can generate revenue, create jobs, and bring more opportunities home, while still protecting and prioritizing the people who live here.

This campaign is about balance, access, and action — making sure our city is both economically strong and community-centered.

Lived Experience, People-First Leadership

As a Lancaster resident for over ten years, I have been able to compare our city to areas with greater access to resources. Through extensive research, I have found that connecting to these resources is not just about opportunity; it is primarily about accessibility and the ability to successfully navigate the required steps. Knowing how to communicate with people from all walks of life with trust is needed to convey the education.

What shaped me

I grew up in South Central Los Angeles and was raised with a foundation of faith, education, and resilience. As a child, my family navigated housing instability and trouble making ends meet. My mother was offered the opportunity to "bus" me to a magnet school on the USC campus at age 7. With that great start I was able to be a part of the GATE program. It taught me a fundamental truth: talent is universal, but opportunity is not. I later joined my High School choir which allowed me to travel all over the world. Great teachers, experiences, and music shaped me into who I am.

When we invest in people, our entire community benefits.

My life was changed by safe community spaces and arts programs that kept me away from negative influences.

Why I’m Running for Lancaster City Council

My business partner and friend Monzelle Dozier, lost his battle against colon cancer in November of 2025. This is why I wear a blue pin. His sister and I organized a candlelight vigil in his honor. Everyone showed up and had so many great things to say. ALL people. Black, White, Hispanic, Asian...everyone referred to him as their brother. Love and compassion sees spirit. I have lived a life full of love and compassion. I see the spirit of Lancaster breaking due to divisiveness, and I want to be the one to shine a light to those who are asking for help, when no one listens.

Lancaster is a city with immense potential, but that potential is often sidelined by a lack of transparency and a "status quo" that doesn’t reach everyone. I am running to bridge the gap between City Hall and our neighborhoods.

Empowering Our Youth:

I will fight for expanded youth centers and early entrepreneurship programs so our kids have a future they can believe in right here in Lancaster.

Real Economic Opportunity: From my time in the aerospace industry to co-founding BLKNGLD, I’ve seen how nepotism and "who you know" can hold a city back. I am committed to opening financial doors for single-parent households and small business owners who are often left behind.

Transparency & Accountability: Having worked in the nonprofit sector advocating for fair wages and worker protections, I believe in systems that operate with dignity. I will bring transparency to city spending, ensuring our funds are actually solving the issues of crime and homelessness rather than just moving them around.

Cultural Vitality: As a cultural curator who has brought events like the Jubilee Night Market and Jazz at the Alley to the Antelope Valley, I know that a thriving city is one that celebrates its diversity. I will work to make Lancaster a hub for creative and cultural investment.

A Vision Rooted in Purpose:
I am a mother, a matriarch, and a strategist who has spent years ensuring marginalized voices are heard. I’m not just running for a seat; I’m running to build a city where opportunity is accessible, your voice matters, and our community can truly thrive.
