About the event

The State of Black AV

A Black History Month Virtual Assembly for Unity, Strategy & Change

About the Event

The State of Black AV is a Black History Month virtual gathering bringing together nonprofits, community leaders, creatives, educators, faith leaders, and residents from across the Antelope Valley.

This is more than a conversation — it’s a strategy session for real change.

Together, we will identify the current state of Black communities in the Antelope Valley, align our efforts, and build a shared vision for collective progress. This meeting is designed to unify our voices, organize our resources, and activate solutions that impact policy, funding, and representation.

Think of it as a modern, digital-day assembly of the people — rooted in the spirit of unity, empowerment, and forward movement.

Our Goals

  • Establish a shared vision for the future of Black communities in the Antelope Valley

  • Connect nonprofits, organizers, and leaders to collaborate instead of working in silos

  • Identify priority issues affecting our community

  • Develop a collective action plan for advocacy, funding, and representation

  • Encourage participation in city council, boards, commissions, and policy spaces

  • Create a system for ongoing collaboration and accountability

What to Expect

  • Community insights + open dialogue

  • Opportunities to join working groups or committees

  • A pathway to take action immediately after the meeting

  • A growing network of people committed to building together

Who Should Attend

  • Nonprofit leaders & organizers

  • Business owners & entrepreneurs

  • Educators & youth advocates

  • Artists & cultural leaders

  • Faith leaders

  • Residents who care about the future of Black AV

If you want to see change and be part of building it, you belong in this room.

Our Vision

We believe the Antelope Valley can become a place where Black families, businesses, and young people thrive, feel represented, and are resourced equitably.

But it takes alignment, leadership, and collective action.

This is where that begins.
